These aren't chronological order (I'll work on that!) but here are some amazing photos documenting the cabin's history. John Kober (Jarod's grandfather) and his brother, Howard, started building the cabin in 1942. The had to salvage lumber, as wood was rationed during WWII. Some of the support beams were taken from the Long Beach Pier!

Dang, I didn't realize how old the cabin was. It's pretty awesome how many stages of Green Valley it's been through.

HOLY SMOKES...that is really amazing. I knew the history but actually seeing the old photos really puts it all in perspective. It's all that much more a blessing that the cabin survived the fire...I'm sure there were many other cabins with similarly amazing histories that didn't make it.
